DARPA Announces Team Grit as Qualified

Cog-Burn YayDARPA has announced Team Grit as a qualified! Cog-Burn our robot, will be one of 25 robots developed to provide assistance to humans in a disaster. There is also a $3.5 million worth of prizes for the top 3 teams. Finals will be on June 5th and 6th 2015 at Fairplex in Pomona, California.

Below is a video showing some improvements in the works to increase movement speeds, the speed is necessary to compete with the increased difficulty of the finals challenges.

Kairos Autonomi Visits Grit Robotics

Kairos Autonomi and Grit Robotics recently met up for friendly facility tours and to show off some of their projects. The two teams are competing in the DARPA Robotics Challenge to develop robots capable of assisting humans in responding to natural and man-made disasters. Kairos Autonomi has full autonomous vehicle kits that they produce for various organizations, similarly Grit Robotics has experience building self driving vehicles. Both teams competed in the DARPA Urban Challenge in 2005. Below are some photos of the teams checking out each others great work.
